I was commissioned to create an event poster for “Kung Fury: Contemporary Debates in Martial Arts Cinema”, communicating the idea of martial arts movies in contemporary cinema, as well as the nostalgia-fueled return of 1980s themed film. The event itself featured multiple talks from guests including Bey Logan, Paul Smith and Spencer Murphy.
The final poster design featured classic martial arts films characters, as well as an effects-heavy composition with neon colours and a traditional movie poster layout. The design was also adapted for on-screen use for presentations, as well as for a brochure handed to guests at the event.
